TECHNO
This genre emerged in the mid to late 80s as one of the first forms of popular electronic music. While similar to house, techno is characterized by heavier beats with little to no vocals. Techno is typically more sparse and synthesized than other forms of electronic music. It also puts more emphasis on the rhythm than the melody, creating a less identifiable song structure. Listen to the songs below to get an idea of how techno differs from other genres of electronic music.
